No need to link Aadhaar card with Bank Account, Mobile Number - Supreme Court Verdict
So far linking Aadhaar card was made compulsory for services like bank accounts, PAN cards, cellphone services, passport and even driving licenses.
Now the supreme court has ordered that no need to link Aadhaar card (i.e) 12- Digit Unique Identification Number to bank accounts and cellphone services
It is a delayed verdict because already many people linked Aadhaar to mobile phones and bank accounts but however its a remarkable and most welcomed verdict
For past 38 days, the Supreme Court heard Aadhaar hearing that had challenged the constitutional validity of Aadhaar and called it a violation of the right to privacy

Aadhaar is not mandatory for school admission and no child should be denied the benefits of any scheme for not being able to produce an Aadhaar number
No Aadhaar for Private firms
No private bodies to use Aadhaar number for establishing the identity of the person.
Aadhaar Mandatory:
- Aadhaar needed for filing Income Tax returns
- Aadhaar needed for link with PAN card
- Aadhaar needed for availing facilities of welfare schemes and government subsidies
