Google watching you even though turn off location history


Google earlier description on Location History:

"Google says that will prevent the company from remembering where you’ve been. Google’s support page on the subject states: “You can turn off Location History at any time”. With Location History off, the places you go are no longer stored

But is not true,

The investigation has been conducted by the news agency company "associated press" it reveals that, Google continuously tracking you even if you disable the location history.

When users have turned off the Location History, some Google apps automatically store “time-stamped location data” without explicit authorization.



Google Tracking Android Users:

Android phones were collecting the addresses of nearby cellular towers even when location services are disabled and sending that data back to Google.

The result is that Google, has access to data about individuals locations and their movements.

Associated Press Question:
The privacy issue affects some two billion users of devices that run Google’s Android operating software and hundreds of millions of worldwide iPhone users who rely on Google for maps or search.”

Google replied to AP Statement:
“There are a number of different ways that Google may use location to improve people’s experience, including: Location History, Web and App Activity, and through device-level Location Services,” a Google spokesperson said in a statement to the AP. “We provide clear descriptions of these tools, and robust controls so people can turn them on or off, and delete their histories at any time.”

Google newly revised description on Location History:
     
After the AP investigation revealed regarding tracking location, now the google revised their  description, it says Google continues to track users even if they’ve disabled the setting

"Google apps and websites store user location even if users have turned off Location History".

Google has not changed its location-tracking practice in that regard                    

How to turn Off Tracking:

Open your web browser, go to myactivity.google.com, select “Activity Controls” and now turn off the “Web & App Activity” and “Location History features”

For Android Devices:
 Go to Security & location >> Privacy >> Location and toggle it off.

For iOS Devices:
Google Maps users can access
Settings >> Privacy Location Services
and change their location setting to ‘While Using’ the app
